JULIUS CARSTENS, Laboratory Director

As Laboratory Director of OEC, responsiblies include the daily technical and financial operation of the laboratory, directing the managers of all departments, and providing technical support to OEC personnel and clients.

Julius holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Soil Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  jcarstens@oecusa.com

 

 LISA RACE, Laboratory Manager / Senior Project Manager

Lisa is responsible for all operational and technical issues of the laboratory.  She is the Sr. Project Manager and supervises the client services, inorganic and organic department managers.  She also ensures that QA/QC procedures and specific methods are strictly followed in conjunction with the QA/QC manager.

Lisa has B.S. in Biochemistry from University of Wyoming.  lrace@oecusa.com

 

PETE ALCOCER, Oil and Gas Lab & Field Services Manager

Pete is responsible for OEC?s field sampling program, managing all field sampling staff and providing independent field analyses of crude and refined gas/oil product for oil and gas production companies.  Laboratory responsibilities include managing lab staff and GC analysis of hydrocarbons in gasses and liquids and crude oil profiles per ASTM methods.  palcocer@oecusa.com.

 

JOHN HATZMAN, Account Manager / Business Development

John’s functions with OEC include setting up new projects, providing client quotes and proposals, personal client interaction, pursuing new markets and clients.   As an account manager, John oversees all communications with prospects and clients, large and small.

John has a B.S. in Business from Loma Linda University.  jhatzman@oecusa.com

 

KEVIN CALCAGNO, Account Manager / Business Development

Kevin’s functions with OEC include setting up new projects, providing client quotes and proposals, personal client interaction, pursuing new markets and clients.   As an account manager, Kevin oversees all communications with prospects and clients, large and small.

 GRACIE VENEGAS, Client Services

Gracie is responsible for workflow of laboratory projects from log-in through completion. Coordination of couriers, field sampling, geoprobe drilling, client services & communication, and requisition of laboratory purchases. Management of sample control/office personnel.

MEREDITH SPRISTER, Project Manager

Meredith is responsible for thoroughly coordinating client projects, maintaining client satisfaction and reviewing laboratory reports.  As project manager, all project status and technical questions from client are handled by Meredith.  She is responsible for reviewing potential work and incoming work with laboratory managers at daily operations meetings.

Meredith has B.A. in Env. Studies from UC Santa Barbara. msprister@oecusa.com 

 

VANESSA MILLER, Project Manager

Vanessa is responsible for thoroughly coordinating client projects, maintaining client satisfaction and reviewing laboratory reports.  As project manager, all project status and technical questions from client are handled by Vanessa.  She is responsible for reviewing potential work and incoming work with laboratory managers at daily operations meetings.

CARRIE McCRILLIS, Quality Assurance Officer

Carrie is responsible for the quality assurance program at the laboratory.  This includes managing certification programs, preparing QA documents, managing PE  studies and any follow-up corrective actions.   Maintains training files, performs audits and responds to the needs of clients, regulators or accrediting organizations.

MARYANN LONG, Volatile Organics Department Manager

 Maryann is responsible for the scheduling, maintenance, and verifying QA/QC parameters are met for all data from the Volatile Organic Laboratory. She is primarily responsible for any new method development, the analysis of proficiency testing (PT) samples, analysis of MDL / RL / DoCs for all supervised personnel, and training of technicians and analysts within this department.

 DWAIN ZSADANYI, Semi-Volatile Organics Department Manager

Dwain is responsible for the operation of the Semi-Volatile Organics Department which includes analyses for BNAs, Pesticides, PCBs, PNAs and Extractable Hydrocarbons (TEPH).  He performs review of all data, final report generation, method development, staffing and scheduling in addition to oversight of all analytical steps from sample preparation to final analytical measurements. 

Dwain has a BS in Chemistry and a Teaching Credential from Cal Poly SLO.

DREW MILLER, Wet Chemistry Department Manager
